How To Train To Get A Smaller Waist
A few considerations need to be made before you start looking for exercises to get a smaller waist.
The first is to assess your current physique.
How is your body structured?
Do you have broad or narrow shoulders and how much muscle mass are you carrying in your upper body?
Building more mass, especially through your shoulders and upper back will give the illusion of a smaller waist.
Let’s not stop there, though!
You can actually get a smaller waist by training the transverse abdominis, or TVA. This is the internal girdle underneath the abs musculature that you can readily feel.
The TVA runs horizontally, unlike most muscles, and responds well to training… but it’s not always easy to target.
The following exercises will help you strengthen the TVA and should decrease your waist circumference…
A Few Small Waist Exercises:
1. Quadruped vacuum
2. Barbell roll out
3. Hollow body hold
Be sure to keep measurements – of both your upper and of your waist.
This way, you can quantify the changes you’re making. Since I started doing these exercises (years ago), I have managed to take one inch from my waist measurement!
